Lightweight Rules

Weigh-ins will be conducted on
• Thursday, May 22nd from 3-6 PM
• Friday, May 23rd from 6:30-11:30 AM

​Please bring photo ID, arrive in racing uniform with all members of the boat including the coxswain. 
SRAA® Lightweight Rules
  • All lightweight rowers, including potential substitutes, must have completed the SRAA Lightweight Certification by April 15, 2026 in order to be eligible to row as a lightweight at the SRAA® Regatta. NO EXCEPTIONS
  • The SRAA Lightweight Certification form must be completed by a state or national licensed athletic trainer. NO EXCEPTIONS


SRAA® Weight Standard
  • Men’s Weights: 150 lbs. (no averaging)
  • Women’s Weights: 130 lbs. (no averaging)​
  • Coxswains do not weigh in
  • No boat weights

​Weigh-in Procedures
  • There will be one weigh-in session only: Friday, May 22rd from 6:30 am to 11:30 am.
  • All athletes, including alternates, and coxswains must be present by boat, dressed in their team uniform (uni) with picture IDs
  • Athletes only need to weigh-in once for the entire regatta.
  • All weigh-in procedures must be completed one (1) hour prior to the published race time AND by the close of the weigh-in session at 11:30 am on Friday. athletes scheduled in earlier races will be given priority.
  • Each athlete shall have only one (1) initial opportunity to weigh-in.
  • An athlete over the limit but within one-half (0.5) pound of the maximum weight is allowed one (1) re-weigh attempt within one (1) hour of the initial weigh-in or by the close of the weigh-in session, or whichever comes FIRST.
  • An athlete whose is unable to meet the weight standard will be ineligible to compete in the lightweight event.
  • Athletes making weight must attach the lightweight wristband to their “outside” hand or ankle and be checked by the referee in charge before leaving the weigh-in area.
  • Wristbands must remain in place until the conclusion of racing at the regatta.
  • Problems with wristbands must be brought to the attention of the referee in charge of weigh-ins.
  • Food is not permitted in the weigh-in area.
  • Taking photographs in the weigh-in area is prohibited by both athletes and spectators. 

Weigh-In Location
The scales will be set up at a location TBD. Be sure to bring photo IDs, arrive dressed in your
racing uniform with all members of the boat including the coxswain.
