2027 Championship: New Venue & Event Program Changes ‐ May 28‐29, 2027

The SRAA Board of Directors has selected Cooper River in Pennsauken, New Jersey, as the site of the 2027 Scholastic National Championship Regatta.

After reviewing recent championship entry trends, considering feedback from the Coaches Committee, and engaging in extensive discussion, the Board approved the following changes to the 2027 championship event program.

✓ Events Added (Boys & Girls)

• Varsity Pair
• Second Varsity Four with Coxswain
• Second Varsity Double

✕ Events Removed (Boys & Girls)

• Varsity Lightweight Four with Coxswain
• Varsity Lightweight Double

The removal of these final two lightweight events will conclude lightweight competition at the SRAA National Championship. Lightweight racing has been a longstanding part of the championship, and the Board recognizes the significance of this change for the athletes, coaches, and programs that have participated in and supported these events over the years.

The revised event program reflects the Board’s effort to respond to participation trends and establish an event lineup that best supports the championship moving forward.

The Board wishes you good luck with your fall season and looks forward to seeing you on the Cooper River on May 28–29, 2027.
